Pocketstories No. 6 — Abalone & Lichen

Pocketstories No. 6 — Abalone & Lichen is the original start-to-finish course illustration from my Pocketstories Little Adventure.

This dimensional original is built around a one-of-a-kind group of found treasures — an abalone shell, small found shells, and lichen — surrounded by layered watercolor brushwork. The artwork was painted on 140 lb Arches cold press watercolor paper and mounted to acid-free matboard.

Framing: Because this Pocketstories original includes dimensional found objects, standard framing may not provide enough clearance. Professional framing with spacers or a shadowbox-style frame is recommended so the artwork and trinkets are protected without being pressed against the glazing.

A note about the found treasure: Each Pocketstories piece includes one-of-a-kind found objects that are part of the original artwork and cannot be replaced with an identical match. I pack these pieces very carefully, but if a trinket is damaged in transit while the artwork itself arrives safely, a small partial refund will be issued for the found object. You may then leave the center as-is or add a found treasure of your own.

Shipping: Please allow up to 5–7 business days for your original artwork to be carefully packed and prepared for shipment. Orders are shipped once each week via USPS Ground Advantage. Shipping is currently available within the United States only. Tracking will be emailed once your order ships.

Lost or damaged orders: If your order arrives damaged, please contact me within 3 days of delivery and include photos of the artwork, the found objects, the packaging, and the shipping label. Please keep all packaging until the issue is resolved. If a package appears to be lost in transit, please contact me so I can help investigate it with USPS. Because these are one-of-a-kind originals, damaged or lost artwork cannot be replaced with an identical piece. Any refund or other resolution will be handled individually once the shipping issue has been documented.

A quick note: Because this is hand-painted and dimensional, you may see small pencil lines, stray marks, paint blooms, paper texture, and other little signs of the making process. Colors are photographed as accurately as possible, but screens can shift things a bit, so the original may vary slightly in person.
